The security of your personal data is important to us. In addition to our policies, your personal data is protected by the Data Protection Act 1998. Lidl UK GmbH is registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioners Office, Data Protection Number Z6682158. We may share information with third parties who provide a service to us, for the purposes outlined in this policy.
The Mini Lidl app is operated on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH by Lidl E-Commerce International GmbH & Co. KG, Stiftsbergstraße 1, 74172 Neckarsulm (hereafter "we" or "us") which is the responsible entity for the purpose of Data Protection laws.
· What kind of personal information does Lidl collect?
The Mini Lidl app does not collect any personal data from you either voluntarily or discreetly. The app does, however, collect non-personal data in the form of access to functions within your mobile device, and usage analysis.
Access to functions within your mobile device refers to accessing your device’s camera, wireless connection and other sensors.
The app requests access to your camera to scan product bar codes only. By scanning real barcodes of products in store across Lidl UK, users can unlock additional assets and functions within the app game.
The app requires access to your device’s wireless connection in order to access the internet, which is needed for game play to take place.
The app will also access some basic functions of your device in order to retrieve data from the internet and to show any necessary error messages. In addition, accessing basic functions will allow the app to deactivate your devices idle state when the app is open in order to allow continuous game play even when activity has stalled.
· What kind of third parties are collecting personal information from users?
The Mini Lidl app also collects non-personal data in the form of pseudonymized usage profiles. These usage profiles are solely for use by Google Analytics, the analytics service which is used across this app. Google Analytics, provided by Google Inc, generates usage information that is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Within the Mini Lidl app, IP addresses have been anonymized; only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to the US server, where it is then shortened. Google will in no case associate your IP address with any other data from Google. You may opt out of the use of Google Analytics in the Legal/Tracking section of this app at any time.
· How are we using that personal information?
Google will use this information to anonymously evaluate your use of the app and compile reports on these activities, along with providing other services which are standard to their Google Analytics platform.
The Mini Lidl app may contain links to other sites which are not owned and controlled by Lidl UK GmbH. The privacy policies of the operators of these sites may differ from those of Lidl UK GmbH. Therefore we cannot accept responsibility for the manner in which data is collected, stored and used by these operators.
· Opting out of data collection
Users can at any time request to withdraw consent from the data capture of this app, at which point their data should be removed from all associated databases.
